The Capital City Mall in Lower Allen Township is getting a new dining destination, as locally owned TANG Dumplings prepares to open its doors as early as November. This follows the closure of Primanti Bros. in February, marking a significant change in the area's culinary landscape. TANG Dumplings, owned by Chi Siu, is set to bring an authentic dim sum experience to the region, catering to the tastes of Camp Hill and Mechanicsburg residents who have previously had to travel to Derry Township to enjoy this cuisine. The restaurant's larger space, approximately 6,000 square feet, will accommodate 35 tables and a more extensive kitchen, allowing for a broader menu with expanded dim sum options. Siu, who grew up eating dim sum, aims to provide an authentic experience, emphasizing the traditional meaning of 'touch of heart.' The menu will feature a variety of dim sum dishes, including steamed roasted pork buns, soup dumplings (with chicken, crab, and pork fillings), crispy duck, pork potstickers, and dessert options, along with boba tea. The restaurant's design will be a unique blend of custom details and distinct concepts, similar to Siu's previous restaurants, which have featured gazebo-style booths. TANG Dumplings will operate seven days a week, offering both lunch and dinner, providing a convenient dining option for the local community. This development highlights the evolving food scene in Central Pennsylvania, where new restaurants bring diverse culinary experiences to the area, enriching the dining choices for residents and visitors alike.
